We are Innovative Designers who think further than buildings.
We consider the broader view of envisioning a city, how strategies can contribute to the global climate discourse, and what can we programme to spur greater community advocacy. Our objective is to identify the necessary steps in achieving holistic designed outcomes.

Our purpose is to address global Sustainable Development Goals and balance localised green performance index (eg. Green Marks Certification), with active communities to continuously enrich the identities of our neighbourhoods.

Yann Follain

Yann Follain is the Managing Director and Head of Design of WY-TO, a research and design built environment studio he founded in 2010. Recognised for his expertise in systemic design, Yann integrates heritage and culture into scalable urban planning strategies, community programming, and cultural curation. He oversees WY-TO’s global interventions across a diverse range of typologies and fields.

Influenced by his multicultural background in Europe and South-East Asia, Yann brings innovation and human-centricity to his projects – informing his design approach, which blends contextual insights with global relevance. In pursuit of empowering better well-being in tropical cities after his conceptual masterplan involvement in the Paya Lebar Air Base, he and his team were awarded the Good Design Research grant by the DesignSingapore Council, culminating in the publication of Well-being for All — a research book that presents a multidisciplinary framework for addressing urban challenges with empathy and resilience.

We collaborate with our clients in government and private sectors to engage stakeholders in achieving longterm responsible economies of scale. Leveraging our research and expertise in well-being, our frameworks open up systemic opportunities and connect urban disciplines. Informed by our experience in South-East Asia and Europe, we enable innovative, bold and evidence-based sustainable practices in addressing climate challenges — creating holistic participatory phase plans for People-Planet continuities.

Guided by our common philosophy, “Design with A Cause”, we aim to tailor scalable agile solutions for each project. Our methodology embeds research and refines through cultural context to inspire lovable places. Outlined by our Green Commitments — derived from international standards and echoing local policies — we rigorously set meaningful benchmarks for inclusive, delightful future cities co-adopted by community-led neighbourhoods.

We are committed to grounding visionary foresight with strong empathy in design for transformative experiences that are relevant and resilient globally.
